Yard Sale : May (traditionally Friday and Saturday
of Mothers day weekend)
This year was a great success. We made over 2700 dollars before
the canopy/tent and advertisement. The Tongs of course did a
lot of the work Bill Pritcher did a great job helping hold down the fort
in the early AM hours of the Friday rush. Matt Savatgy came by
with his donation of items and time as well. Carol and Doug Doyle
(nonmembers) helped a great deal with pricing and running around
contributing to the sale of literally 100's of dollars from the jewelry
and other items. Doug's employer also donated drinks for the day
to sell, which added to our efforts. The tent was well worth it
keeping the rain and sun off us as usual and is a needed addition every
year. Thanks to Camper Barn for the camper, it was great.
If I missed anyone else sorry, thanks for everyone's help.
SO for next year, if you
have items for the yard sale they need to be stored at an alternate
location until May. Thanks to Doug Whitaker and
ENTEK for donating storage again this year and hopefully next. Heath is
continuing to seek other storage also in the Kingston area Furniture,
kids toys, jewelry, house hold items, tools, sports equipment
are good sellable items. Books and clothes are not that good. Keep in
mind that we can provide a tax letter/receipt for the donation of items.
So please start putting out the feelers for yard sale stuff now. A large
canopy/tent will be ordered again. (Rented from SAV-ON party
rentals). This helps a lot for the $417 that we put out for it. Also we
will again seek the assistance of Campers Barn to see if we can get a
trailer on sight.

Scout Show 2008 May 3rd at the Ulster County fair grounds!
It has happen and it is now over. This year it did not happen has we
would have liked. The Show was at the fair grounds and it
was a cool and cloudy day with showers. Bill Pritcher, Christine
Tong and myself set up Friday night. Christine and I started
the morning on Saturday and Mary Alice showed up later to round out the
morning. Maryalice did a great job of getting silent auction items
other then scout stuff. PVC, tarps and the Cattle Pavilion made up
the booth that you see in the pictures. We had two silent auctions, but
the weather and temperature made it so that we could not have a sponge
toss....to cold and wet already. Thanks to Georg Muller for
constructing the sponge throw booth so next year we will be set to go.
Bottom line? $ 300 at the auctions, $100 dues and $49 trading Post.
No mugs yet but soon I hope.
- There will possible be a major push on the Moseman house
again once the plans are finalized. This project like the
Carlson building will take many years at the rate that we
raise funds and get support.
